Elvis D. Milord, artistically known as Zoey Dollaz, was born in Miami on October 12, 1990. He grew up with one sister and with his mom playing the role of both mother and father, he learned to appreciate the little things in life. At first, he dreamed of becoming a pilot. A neighborhood friend by the name Garvin ” G-money” Webster who was doing music introduced Zoey to the music world. As a young boy, he listened to artists like Jay Z, T.I., Lloyd Banks, but his favorite genre of music has always been R & B. Zoey began composing songs at age 12.

While in high school, Zoey and his friends started performing in the hallway with a boom box as their sound equipment. They battled amongst each other and had fun with music, which became their culture. Obviously, turning a boom box on in the middle of a high school hallway is not part of the rules, so Zoey and his friends were eventually expelled from school for continuous bad behavior.

Always supporting Zoey, his mom paid for his first recording studio session. He remembers the studio had a big SSL Board and she paid $350 for the first song he ever recorded: “I Run AP.” Ever since, Zoey has taken music more seriously and has turned it into a career.

“In general, I love all types of music. It doesn’t matter if I don’t understand the language. To me, it’s more about the different types of feelings a person may have while listening to a song,” says Zoey.

Zoey Dollaz recent rise to success has been a steady climb. The release of his smash hit “Blow a check”, became a grass-root motivational anthem to Hip Hop and mainstream audiences. The song became such a success, It gained the attention of music and business mogul Puff Daddy, inspiring the “Blow A Check” (Bad Boy Remix) Featuring  Puff Daddy, Zoey Dollaz and French Montana.

Some artist would of allowed a record of that magnitude to get to their head, but  Zoey remained humble and continued on his path to greatness. He bunkered down, continued to grind and toured city to city.

Zoey’s hard work, drive, and ambition to be great, lead him on a path to recently sign a deal with Epic records Music Mogul L.A. Reid and Future’s Freebandz label.

As you might expect from the artwork, the track features a sample of Dave Chappelle’s classic Rick James skit. After kicking off the track with the comedic bit, Zoey Dollaz unleashes some tough bars over a hard-knocking beat from Jahlil Beats.

“The single is about being at the club with friends and the turn up is so live, that ya’ll end up poppin’ bottles, standing on the club couches… wildin’ out with chicks, spending money… not caring if club owners get mad, screaming, ‘Fuck Yo Couch,” Zoey Dollaz told Complex.

The track is slated to appear on Zoey Dollaz’s new project Port Au Prince, which is due out later this month. The Miami rapper hopes to be the voice of the people with his music.

“[I want] to be that voice for the people that can’t say certain stuff,” Zoey Dollaz explained to XXL. “You know life, if you got this girl and you want to tell her stop leaving shit in my house? You gon’ listen to my music. If you in the vibe that you wanna blow a check? I’m that voice. If you can’t put the feelings into rhyming words, you’re going to be a fan of mine. I just went through this and he’s rapping about it, that’s what hip-hop is and I want to be able to help other artists get on as well, like put them out there and put a light on them. That’s my goal.”
